SGA announces the call for applications for the 2021 mandate

After numerous weeks of speculation on when the SGA will announce the call for applications for the new generation of SGA senators, the student representative body has just shared more details on the matter. Starting tonight, students who would like to become candidates in the next SGA elections can apply through a Form set up for the matter.

Students who plan to apply have to ensure that they are in compliance with the eligibility requirements:

  • Be a full student at the university for at least 2 complete semesters.
  • Not being on an academic probation
  • Not having any disciplinary history
  • Not having been impeached from previous senates
  • Having a CGPA of 2.75 or higher.

Of course, many other things are to be considered for students who would like to apply for the SGA besides legal requirements such as the amount of existing commitments, the projected vision they have for their mandate, as well as other important elements.

The SGA did not specify a specific deadline for applications, but it appears that the period will be shortened this semester to allow for a greater transition between the old and new board.
