Following a statement relayed by various Moroccan media outlets, Al Akhawayn University received an award of 1.2 million dollars from the U.S.-Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI). Entitled ‘Tomorrow’s leaders’, the award salutes the university’s strong leadership in Africa as a model of the American Educational system, considering its New England Commission for Higher Education (NECHE) accreditation. Furthermore, the award acknowledges AUI’s commitment to training future leaders.
It is important to note that this award allows Al Akhawayn University to further reinforce and fund its community, including faculty, staff, and any type of support put in place for students, in order to increase the number and quality of the aforementioned future leaders graduating from the university.
Finally, the MEPI established Tomorrow’s Leaders Scholarships for brilliant incoming students from North Africa, desiring to pursue their studies at Al Akhawayn University during the 2021-2022 academic year.
