Newly appointed DSA Abdessamad Fatmi joins Al Akhawayn University

According to a press release published by the university and relayed by many Moroccan news outlets, Abdessamad Fatmi has been appointed as the new Dean of Student Affairs at Al Akhawayn University. While no official statement about this change has been communicated, the press release about 30 new scholarships for children of public servants (health, education, and authorities) mentioned Dr. Fatmi as Dean of Student Affairs. This new appointment comes as the university is moving towards the execution of a new 2020-2025 strategic plan under the leadership of President Bensaid.

Dean Abdessamad Fatmi is an Al Akhawayn University alumnus (MAISD ’04) and served as Outreach and Admission Officer, Director of Student Activities, as well as Director of Communication and Development before joining “Université Intrenationale de Rabat (UIR)” as an Associate Professor & Student Affairs Director. Dean Fatmi will succeed Dr. Moncef Lahlou who was appointed as Vice-President of Student Affairs on January 25th, 2018.

It is expected that the new appointment will be communicated at the end of August, after the yearly administrative holidays.
