PCR tests, is it required for everyone?

Due to the long weekend, AUIers were subject to many strict regulations and measures. In fact, the administration required all students to bring a negative PCR test not exceeding 48 hours while making all classes online for a week.

Who is required to bring a test?

Students who will leave Ifrane must bring a new copy of their PCR test results to access the campus again. In addition, AUIers living in Ifrane and/or whose parents are coming to visit need to bring it as well, in case, they are staying overnight, considering the fact that many students spend the Eid-El Mawlid holiday with their families. For reasons of consistency, students who live off-campus are required to also bring a negative test.

However, according to sources close to the matter, staff members are not required to bring a negative test even if they leave Ifrane. The logic behind this remains in the fact that staff members do not live on campus and cannot do a PCR every time they enter the campus.

One could only ask and wonder about the reasons behind such decisions and measures. Who is allowed to bring a PCR test? What is the difference between both the staff and students? Isn’t everyone concerned?
